To the Pointe..... February 2009 Message from Miss Cheryl With this crazy weather, we sometimes do not know until the last minute if conditions are bad enough to cancel class. The schools closing, does not necessarily mean we will close for the day. Last week we used automated calling to inform you of our status. If there is a better number to reach you, please stop by the desk, we will put that number in as the first contact. If you are in question, I try to have the voicemail updated by 2pm. Since we have missed several classes, make-up lessons will be announced for the spring. MUSICAL THEATRE Session 3 of our Musical Theatre classes will begin March 2. This session will focus on folk stories from around the world. If you are interested, please fill out form at front desk. RECITAL 2009 As previously announced, our recital will be on May 29th 2009. The recital is at Civic Hall Performing Arts Center. SPRING ATTENDANCE All the teachers at DTCD understand that many of our dancers participate in many other activities. I believe we are very easy going about absences due to these other sport/school activities. As we are approaching spring, and our recital, please remember it is very important to be at dance class. Not only does an absence affect the student missing the material being taught or reviewed, but the other students also are affected. We want each dancer to feel like a superstar when they are on stage dancing. Excessive absences tend to lead to stress for the whole class as well as the teacher. Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Pictures Group and individual pictures will be taken at the studio on Thursday, April 30th.
